
Registration of children's homes is mandatory under the Juvenile Justice Act-2015 - Deputy Commissioner
Nawanshahr - It is mandatory to register under section 41 (1) of the Juvenile Justice Act-2015 of children's homes running for orphans, destitute or disabled children between 0-18 years of age in the district. Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa gave this information and said that no children's home, which is not registered under the said Act.
Nawanshahr - It is mandatory to register under section 41 (1) of the Juvenile Justice Act-2015 of children's homes running for orphans, destitute or disabled children between 0-18 years of age in the district. Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa gave this information and said that no children's home, which is not registered under the said Act. Action will be taken according to section 42 of the Juvenile Justice Act 2015 against the head of those children's homes. Under this action, 1 year imprisonment or 1 lakh rupees fine or both can be imposed.
The Deputy Commissioner said that any non-governmental organization, which provides accommodation, food and care facilities to orphans, destitute or disabled children aged 0-18 years, under Section 41(1) of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015. Must be registered. The Deputy Commissioner said that if an NGO is looking after children and is not yet registered under the Juvenile Justice Act 2015, they can submit their documents till January 15, 2024 for registration.
