
Bureau of Indian Standards organized the 4th Gram Panchayat Awareness Camp of the district under the leadership of Mrs. Manjinder Kaur, BDPO Madam.

Under the leadership of DPO Manjinder Kaur, the fourth Gram Panchayat Awareness Camp of the district was organized.

About 77 panches-sarpanches and committee members participated in this camp. In which local MLA and Deputy Speaker Jai Krishna Singh Rowdy attended the function as the chief guest. During the Awareness Cup, he called upon Panches-Sarpanches, Samiti members and general public to spread maximum awareness about ISI and Hallmark. He said that by using the BIS app, where people can get good quality goods, they can also avoid fraud. He fully appreciated the initiative of the representatives of Bureau of Indian Standards.
On this occasion, booklets, flyers and information related to agriculture specially prepared by BIS for the villages were distributed among the audience. So that along with their daily life, the knowledge of the agricultural sector can also be increased. During the event, the Panches-Sarpanches were informed about the importance of standards for personal needs for development activities, for the development of villages and for purchasing quality equipment while constructing irrigation sources in the fields. Attendees also downloaded the BIS Care app and were taught how to use the app to verify the authenticity of the original ISI mark. So that their knowledge about standards in daily life can increase. During the event, a large number of women panchayat members enthusiastically participated in the discussion on Hall Marking and BIS Care App. The audience also raised the slogans of 'Jago Thakjak Jago' with great enthusiasm. The present Panchayat members shared their views on effective use of the information gained during the workshop. They were surprised to know that they can directly complain on the BIS Care app and check the misuse of the standard mark. Which has to be settled by the department within one month. On this occasion, BDPO Manjinder Kaur arranged refreshments for the guests And promised that such camps will be organized at the village level in the near future. He thanked the consultant Dalbir Singh, resource person Foran Chand and Yograj from BIS department. District Development Fellow Joya Siddiqui, Superintendent Jeevan and entire staff of BDPO office Garhshankar were present on this occasion.
