Chief Minister announced to change the direction of the royal city of Patiala through extensive funds

Chandigarh/Patiala, December 26 - Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today said that the state government will give a big boost to the all-round development of Patiala by spending more crores of rupees in the coming days, which will change the outlook of the royal city.

Presiding over a meeting with MLAs and officials at his office here, the Chief Minister said that the aim of this step is to provide basic facilities to the people, while also giving a boost to the development of the city. He sadly said that despite being a big city of the state, Patiala has lagged behind in the pace of development due to the neglect of the governments so far. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now the state government will leave no stone unturned to give a big boost to the development of the district.
Discussing the agenda, the Chief Minister said that the state government is taking major steps to solve the problem of stray animals in the city. He further said that 77 development projects are already underway in the city at a cost of Rs 57 crore. Bhagwant Singh Mann also said that the work of providing 24X7 canal water supply to Patiala residents is also going on vigorously which will help in providing continuous and potable water supply to the people.
The Chief Minister also asked the officials to speed up the process of shifting dairies in Ablowal Dairy Project where plots have already been allotted. He said that the first phase of construction of model town drain has been completed and the six km phase-2 will be completed at a cost of Rs 65 crore. Bhagwant Singh Mann also reviewed the functioning of sewage treatment plants and ensuring sanitation facilities for the people in the city. The Chief Minister also took stock of street lights, maintenance of parks, heritage street projects, Chhoti Badi Nadi project and other works for the convenience of the people. He asked the officials to ensure that the ongoing works are completed within the stipulated time. Similarly, Bhagwant Singh Mann instructed the officials to ensure that the outline, planning and implementation of new projects are carried out in a highly professional and transparent manner. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also asked the officials to explore the possibility of using the existing bus stand as a city bus stand. The Chief Minister said that this could help in providing better means of public transport to the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Punjab government is fully committed to ensure comprehensive development of the city and prosperity of the people.
