Banks have disbursed loans worth Rs 1362.05 crore till September 2023 in District Una.

Una, December 13 - District level bank advisory and review meeting was held in the District Council Hall under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Mahendra Pal Gurjar. While reviewing the achievements of the banks against the targets in the second quarter in the meeting, the ADC said that the banks of the district distributed loans worth Rs 1362.05 crore against the annual target of loans of Rs 2401.56 crore till September 2023. He said that the deposits of banks have increased to Rs 13422.88 crore, which has increased at the annual rate of 13.29 percent, while the loans have increased at the rate of 9.58 percent to Rs 4027.78 crore. The credit deposit ratio of the district has increased to 30.01 percent in the year. The credit deposit ratio of the district is lower than the national target of 60 percent. ADC said that banks and government departments should make every effort to improve the loan deposit ratio of banks.
ADC informed that banks in the district have distributed 64,896 agricultural cards to farmers till September 30, 2023 and in the September quarter, banks have distributed 917 agricultural cards to farmers. He said that the agricultural loan of banks is Rs 765.66 crore which is 19.01 percent of the total loans. ADC directed the banks to provide all possible help in improving the living standards of the people of the district and to distribute necessary loans to increase the income of the farmers.
ADC said that banks were instructed to timely achieve the targets set under the annual loan scheme so that the economic needs of the people can be met. Apart from this, he was asked to distribute more agricultural cards, provide loans for agricultural equipment and encourage small industries. He said that all banks and government/non-government officials should contribute their best to provide benefits to the people under the Prime Minister's Social Security Insurance Scheme so that more and more farmers can be included in the Prime Minister's Crop Insurance Scheme.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner expressed satisfaction over the achievements of the banks under the Annual Loan Scheme and said that this achievement in the primary sector is very less for which all the banks should take necessary steps to improve their situation and increase the deposit loan ratio. He gave directions to banks and government departments to follow the targets and policies set by the Government of India.
He instructed the banks to organize awareness camps to enable more and more people in the district to avail the benefits of the loan schemes of various banks so that the common people can benefit. He instructed all the banks to timely approve loan applications under government sponsored schemes.
ADC asked to form self-help groups, joint liability groups and new farmer clubs in the district and to provide agricultural cards to as many farmers as possible. Apart from this, ADC informed that under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme, the potato crop of the farmers of the district will be insured by the Agriculture Insurance Company till December 31. He told that under this scheme, the premium amount payable by the farmer is Rs 250 per kanal and the insured amount is Rs 5000 per kanal. He said that any farmer who wants to get his potato crop insured can get his insurance done at the nearest Lokmitra center by taking Aadhar card, bank passbook, land charge and crop sowing certificate. He said that last year, an insurance amount of Rs 1.60 crore was provided to 436 potato growers in the district in exchange of a premium of Rs 34.30 lakh.
Chief Manager of Punjab National Bank Yuvraj Anand, Chief District Leading Bank Manager Gurcharan Bhatti, District Development Officer Ashish Sangda from Reserve Bank of India, District Development Manager of NABARD Sabrina Rajvanshi, State Director RSETI JP Singh, RSETI Director Sandeep Thakur, Deputy Director were present in the meeting. Horticulture Dr KK Bhardwaj, Deputy Director Agriculture Dr Kulbush Dhiman along with district coordinators of various banks and government/non-government officials participated.
