The Deputy Commissioner said that he had received information that illegal mining was being done on the Sutlej river adjacent to the said villages. After receiving the information, when a surprise check was done at the river, it was seen that the sand seemed to have been taken from the river. He said that for its investigation, the officials of the concerned department have been called on the spot and have been instructed to take action as per the rules in this regard. He said that if someone needs sand for carrying out work, then they can buy sand from government quarries approved by the government by paying the government fee. In this way, no one is allowed to take sand from the river. He said that instructions have been given to the officials of the concerned department to take action.
