Patiala, December 8 – Additional District Magistrate Anuprita Johal, using the powers conferred under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act No. 2 of 1974), from Rajpura Chungi to Purana bus stand area, from Purana bus stand to Fuara Chowk, (The Mall Road), Fuara Chowk Lower Mall to Mahindra College and Mahindra College to Snouri Station have restricted the entry of heavy vehicles from 8 am to 8 pm.
These orders, which will remain in force till February 5, 2024, state that the traffic of heavy vehicles has increased significantly within the urban area of Patiala district, the arrival of these vehicles in the city during the day is causing significant disruption to the movement of normal traffic. , which leads to long time jams. Due to these traffic jams, where the work of the general public is affected, it also interferes with the timely arrival of the sick/elderly/patients/ambulances/school children from one place to another. The apprehension remains. That is why this ban has been imposed.
