Patiala, December 6 – Additional District Magistrate Anuprita Johal, using the powers conferred under Section 144 of the Penal Code, 1973, has declared the area of jails and 500 meters around the jails as a no-drone zone in Patiala district. These orders will remain in force till February 3, 2024 and legal action will be taken against the violators.
According to a letter issued by Director General Police Punjab, drones have become increasingly popular and easily accessible in the public domain, raising concerns about potential security breaches and threats, the order said. Keeping the security of the jails in mind, it is necessary to declare the area of the jails and 500 meters around the jails as a no drone zone.
