Patiala, August 23 - As per the orders of Punjab Government and Commissioner Food and Drug and the guidelines of Civil Surgeon Dr. Jitinder Kansal, focusing on providing clean food items to the people and preventing adulteration in them, District Health Officer Dr. Gurpreet Kaur has issued a press note and appealed to the owners of grocery, confectionery, bakery, restaurant and dairy etc. of Patiala to pay special attention to safety, quality standards, personal hygiene and cleanliness in relation to the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006.
She also appealed to all the sweet shops, bakeries, hotels, dhabas, food producers and vendors in the district to get themselves registered under the Food Safety and Standards Act. She also warned of taking legal action against those selling substandard and adulterated food items.
