Patiala, November 29 - Taking action on behalf of the administration regarding the problem of beggars in the city, today as per the orders of Deputy Commissioner Patiala Sakshi Sahni, District Child Protection Officer Patiala, Municipal Corporation Patiala, Police Department and Health Department conducted raids in various areas of Patiala.
Patiala, November 29 - Taking action on behalf of the administration regarding the problem of beggars in the city, today as per the orders of Deputy Commissioner Patiala Sakshi Sahni, District Child Protection Officer Patiala, Municipal Corporation Patiala, Police Department and Health Department conducted raids in various areas of Patiala. During this time, the team took action to evacuate the migrant children and their families sitting near Shri Kali Devi Temple and Fountain Chowk. The Municipal Corporation team left these families along with their belongings in the night shelter and the Health Department also conducted their medical checkup and provided them free medicines. Meanwhile, a small child's hand was badly burnt and he was treated.
On reaching the night shelter, these children and their families were presented before the Child Welfare Committee, Patiala and they were counseled as per the orders of the Child Welfare Committee. District Child Protection Officer, Patiala Dr. Shaina Kapoor instructed these families to stay in night shelters instead of living on the streets so that they can stay there and raise their children properly. If these families do not want to live in night shelters, then they will not be allowed to live on the streets under any circumstances and will be sent back to their state and such raids will continue in the coming days. The team included Inspector Munish Puri from Municipal Corporation, Superintendent Ravinder Singh and his staff members, District Child Protection Officer, Patiala Dr. Shaina Kapoor, Child Protection Officer (Non-Institutional) Simranjeet Kaur, Puneet Singla, Shalini, Rohit Goyal, Pradeep Sharma, Sunita Yadav and Sukhdeep Singh, Dr. Praveen Markan from Health Department, Harjeet Singh and Narinder Kaur from Police Department, Chairman Jagdish Chandra Singh and members Gurtej Singh and Bela Sood from Child Welfare Committee.
