Patiala, November 21 - Keeping in view the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections-2024 and Special Summary Revision on January 1, 2024, the Department of Social Security and Women and Child Development, Government of Punjab and District Administration Patiala organized a district level event called Our Elders-Our Pride. On this special occasion, a voter awareness camp was organized by the Office District Election Officer, Patiala. In which the elderly were encouraged to vote by telling them about the importance of their vote and to vote if one is absent.
Dr. Savinder Singh Rekhi, District Sweep Nodal Officer, Patiala informed that as per the schedule issued by the Election Commission of India, the work of correcting photo voter lists on the basis of eligibility on January 1, 2024 is going on from October 27 to December 9, 2023. Eligible person, whose name is not included in the voter list of any constituency in India, can get his name included in the voter list by filling Form No. 6 or online https://voters.eci.gov.in/ One can register as a voter by applying on the portal. For this reason, special camps are to be organized by BLOs on Saturday 2nd December and Sunday 3rd December 2023 at the booth level. If any person wants to amend their vote or make a new vote then they can avail these camps near their home.
