In the opening match of the state level cricket competition of schools, S. A. S. Nagar team defeated Moga

SAS Nagar, November 20 - The state-level school cricket competition organized by the School Education Department started today at the Champions Cricket Academy ground in Chappachiridi. Boys and girls teams of 19 years age group are participating in this cricket competition. These five-day cricket competitions were jointly inaugurated by District Sports Coordinator Dr. Indu Bala and Principal Bhupinder Singh.

Giving information on this occasion, Adhyatam Prakash Tyud said that the inaugural match of the boys was played between the teams of SAS Nagar and Moga. He said that SAS Nagar won the toss and batted first. SAS Nagar team scored 184 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, in response to which the Moga team scored only 131 runs by losing 9 wickets in the stipulated overs and SAS Nagar won this match with a margin of 53 runs. He said that in other matches Malekotla team beat Hoshiapur by 9 wickets, Mansa beat Moga by 47 runs and Ludhiana team beat Fatehgarh Sahib by 9 wickets. In the girls' competition, Patiala's team qualified for the next round after defeating Moga.

District Sports Coordinator Dr. Indu Bala and Krishna Mehta said that 17 teams of boys and 12 teams of girls are participating in the state level competitions. On this occasion, head teacher Manpreet Kaur Launderan, Palvinder Kaur, Harpreet Kaur, Sarabjit Kaur, Amanpreet Kaur, Virpal Kaur, Samsher Singh, Manmohan Singh, Harvinder Singh Mianpur Changar, Satwinder Kaur, Sharanjit Kaur, Rupinder Kaur, Sharanjit Kaur, Rajvir Kaur, Narinder Kaur, Tarinder Sandhu, Nirmaljit Kaur, Veena Kumari were also present.
