S. A. S. Nagar, November 7 - Punjab Taekwondo Association organized the 26th District Taekwondo Championship under Guru Nanak V. B. T. Conducted at Polytechnic, Industrial Area, Phase 1 Mohali in which players from 2 different training centers and schools of the district participated. Sports competitions were inaugurated by eminent singer and musician Mr. Madan Shaunki, S. Kanwaljit Singh Walia (Chairman, Organizing Committee and Senior Vice President, Punjab Taekwondo Association), Shri Subodh Sharma (Managing Guru Nanak VBT Polytechnic) and Harvinder Singh Jawandha (Vice President, District Taekwondo Association) jointly .

Giving information about this, General Secretary-Technical Director of Punjab Taekwondo Association, Engr. Satpal Singh Rehal said that the players of Mata Sahib Kaur Public School, Swara bagged the highest number of medals (13 gold, 8 silver and 2 bronze), followed by the Zirakpur team by winning 11 gold, 9 silver and 4 bronze medals. 2nd and Mohali Taekwondo Academy players bagged 10 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals to secure the third position.

He said that Patron of Punjab Taekwondo Association participated as the chief guest at the prize distribution and closing ceremony. Sukhdev Singh Brar (S. S. P. Retd.), Mr. Zorawar Singh, Mr. Kanwaljit Singh Walia, Mr. Madan Shawki, Mr. Harvinder Singh, Mandeep Singh, and Daljinder Singh Malhi jointly distributed the prizes to the winning players.
