
The arrival of paddy in the mandis of Patiala district has crossed 10 lakh metric tons

The Deputy Commissioner said that 10 lakh 17 thousand 940 metric tons of paddy has arrived till last day from 109 procurement centers in the district and out of this 10 lakh 16 thousand 902 metric tons of paddy has been purchased.
He said that out of the purchased paddy, 438508 metric tons from Pangrain, 252221 metric tons from Markfed, 196408 metric tons from Pansap and 129615 metric tons from Punjab State Warehouse Corporation have been purchased. While 150 metric tons of paddy has been purchased by the participants. He said that out of the purchased paddy, 820214 metric tons of paddy has been paid and Rs 2079.34 crore has been paid to the farmers. He appealed to the farmers of the district to use in situ techniques for stubble management to increase the fertility of the land by incorporating the stubble in the fields itself.
