Meanwhile, the District Election Officer said that the Election Commission of India has issued a special revision program of voter lists based on the eligibility date of January 1, 2024. He said that preliminary publication of voter lists has started from today and claims and objections will be received till December 9, 2023.
On this occasion, the District Election Officer also said that according to the instructions issued by the Election Commission of India, special efforts are being made for the voter registration of some special sections of the society such as the disabled, transgender etc. District Patiala has a total of 1786 polling stations and BLO has been appointed by the respective Electoral Registration Officer at each polling station. The total number of voters in district Patiala is 14,83,457, out of which 776047 are male and 707346 are female and 64 are transgender. The District Election Officer, Patiala asked all the political parties to appoint their own booth level agents at each polling station as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India.
He said that in this regard, special camps will be held on November 4, November 5, December 2 and December 3, 2023, during which BLOs will sit at their respective polling stations from 9 am to 5 pm and vote for the eligible persons. Will vote He said that the claims and objections will be settled by December 26 and the final publication of voter lists will be done on January 5, 2024.
The District Election Officer said that persons who have attained the age of 18 years or above on 1st January 2024 can apply in Form No. 6 to get their name included in the electoral roll.
