A few months ago, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had announced to give Rs 5 crore 75 lakh to give a new look to the auditorium of this library, the entire process of approval of that amount has been completed and now PWD is undertaking the new construction of this auditorium. do. He regretted that this "Mecca" (auditorium) of artists is closed since 2017. Many proposals were made and sent, but in 2020-21, the then Punjab government (for the first time in 60 years) approved an amount of Rs 1.50 crore, with which other important works of this library were done, but this generosity of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann helped the artists. Has won the heart of. He said that digitization of this library and other important works will be done with the amount of more than Rs 2 crore announced by the Chief Minister. He also expressed concern about the very low staffing in the library and demanded to remove this shortage. When Piyush Aggarwal of PWD's Axion was contacted in this regard to give a new look to the library auditorium, he said that soon action will be taken in this regard and the tender process will be started.
