Under these initiatives, all information boards of the district must be written in Punjabi language (Gurmukhi script). He said that in order to give more importance to Punjabi language, names of all government, semi-government offices, departments, institutions, institutes, educational institutions, boards, corporations and non-governmental organizations, public and private shops and commercial establishments etc. and names of roads, While writing name strips, milestones, signboards, first write in Punjabi language (Gurmukhi script) on the upper side and if writing in any other language then write in another language below Punjabi language (Gurmukhi script). Apart from government institutions, non-government, private shops and commercial establishments will also make it mandatory to write their signboards in Punjabi language. In case of non-compliance of these orders, action will be taken against the concerned as per the provisions contained in the Punjab State Language (Amendment) Act 2008 and 2021. He strongly appealed to all the residents of the district and said that they should give full support to promote the Punjabi language, considering it as their moral responsibility. He said that if anyone faces any problem related to Punjabi word combinations while writing the information board, they can contact the District Language Office, Hoshiarpur.
