SAS Nagar, October 6 - Chief Sevadar of Shiromani Akali Dal constituency Mohali, Parvinder Singh Sohana, while raising the issue of the extremely bad condition of the roads in Mohali, has said that both the Municipal Corporation Mohali and Gamada are equally responsible for this. He said that Gamada has become the son of the Punjab government and corruption is completely prevalent in the Mohali Municipal Corporation. This is the reason that the people who pay property tax of crores of rupees to the Mohali Municipal Corporation are also deprived of basic facilities.
Talking to reporters, Parvinder Singh Sohana said that there is not a single road in the area under Mohali Municipal Corporation which is not broken. He said that the previous Congress government remained a government that only put patch work on the roads and the present government has gone through that too.
He said that GAMADA is responsible for the development of infrastructure in the new sectors of the city, but the condition of the roads in these new sectors is very pathetic. He said that Gamada has gone on to talk big and has become a property dealer. He said that Gamada is fully focused on earning and has nothing to do with the infrastructure of the city.
He said that the Akali Dal government had spent 2500 crore rupees to improve the infrastructure in Mohali and all the important works that have been done in Mohali are due to the Akali government. On the other hand, neither the Congress nor the AAP government has brought any project in Mohali city and has not broken any stone in terms of infrastructure development.
He demanded that an investigation should be conducted into the corruption rampant in the Mohali Municipal Corporation and punishment should be given to the responsible people who are misusing people's money. He said that the condition of the roads in the area under the municipal corporation should be improved immediately. He said that the present government should instruct the GAMADA officials to improve the deplorable condition of the roads in the new sectors.
