The meeting of Bharatiya Kisan Union was held at Gurudwara Akali Office Kharar in the presence of President Ravinder Singh Deh Kalan, in which State Press Secretary Meher Singh Thedi specially participated.
Speaking on the occasion, the leaders said that the sowing of wheat has come to a head and the sowing of potatoes is going on in full swing, but DAP fertilizer is neither available in the societies nor in the market. They demanded that fertilizer should be arranged as soon as possible.
The leaders said that the government is taking strict action on farmers to prevent straw blowing, but the Supreme Court's order that farmers should be given compensation of Rs 2500 to prevent straw blowing should be implemented immediately so that farmers can do not set fire
The leaders said that the flood victims whose lands were flooded and sand filled due to the recent floods have not received any compensation from the government till date. He said that the Chief Minister kept saying on the stages that without Girdavari compensation and payment will come into the accounts as soon as the paddy trolley is opened, but there is nothing like that. He said that now the district administration has said in the newspapers that the farmers should collect sand from their fields by October 5, but how can the farmers manage in these 24 hours.
The leaders said that the administration is playing an unpleasant joke with the farmers by doing this. He demanded that the roads which have been damaged due to floods should be repaired immediately because the farmers have to go to the markets to sell their paddy crops and there are many accidents every day.
The leaders said that the Patwaris have left the additional functions of the villages in the interest of Patwaris and administration, so new Patwaris should be appointed by recruiting them so that the problems of farmers and common people can be solved.
