Under the anti-drug campaign launched by the Punjab Government,Under the direction given by District Police Chief Hoshiarpur IPS Mr. Sartaj Singh Ji under the direction of Mr. Ravinder Singh Deputy Police Captain Hoshiarpur Ji and SI Jagjit Singh Chief Officer Mehtiana Police Station. While giving information to the press while following the instructions, SI Gurdeep Singh along with his fellow employees were patrolling in search of Sakshi Persons and were returning from village Baddla to police station Mehtiyana in their private vehicles. So when the police party reached the road towards Fuglana from the ramp built between village Mona Kalan and Fuglana, a Mona youth about 30/35 years of age motorcycle number PB-07-BO-4820 was seen coming from the front of the village Fuglana. Seeing the police party coming in the vehicle, the motorcyclist immediately panicked, parked the motorcycle on the left side of the road, removed the plastic envelope attached to the handle and walked towards the fields at a fast pace. He was arrested and asked for his name, who gave his name as Unkar Chand alias Kala Suro Gurpal Singh, resident of Sunder Nagar Police Station, Model Town, Hoshiarpur. On checking, 1080 drug capsules were recovered. On which the case was registered on 22-61-85 NDPS Act Thana Mehtiana. On questioning the accused, it was found that three such cases have been registered against the alleged accused. Further investigation is going on.
