CITU's All India General Secretary, CPI(M) Polit Bureau Member and former Member of Parliament Tappansen and President Hem Lata who arrived here today to participate in the meeting of the State Secretariat of the Center of Indian Trade Union (CITU) said that Prime Minister Modi During his 9-year rule, the rise in poverty and unemployment has broken all records and the welfare schemes providing nominal benefits to the laborers have also been indulged. Pensions are not being increased and the public sector has been privatized, leading to a slavish contract labor system everywhere. He said that the government has drastically reduced the amount for NREGA and has stopped fixing the interest on the provident fund. He said that in the same way in Punjab too, SITU will make all efforts to eliminate BJP and its old and new colleagues from the people. They also demanded the common ground of 28 parties to repeal the four anti-labour labor codes.

On this occasion, Usha Rani, All India President of CITU Anganwadi, said that crores of women Anganwadi workers, Asha workers and mid-day meal workers are being exploited in Modi's government, so there is a need for a joint struggle of laborers-farmers in addition to occupational struggles. .

On this occasion, CITU State President Maha Singh Rodi and General Secretary Chandra Shekhar demanded the Punjab government to increase the minimum wage, pay the claims of construction workers, provide 200 days of work to MNREGA workers in a year and 700 rupees. Wages should be guaranteed, government wages should be ensured for Asha workers, village chaunkidars, mid-day meal workers, vacancies should be recruited in all government and semi-government departments, the contractor system should be abolished from other institutions including the transport department. done and implement the rule of equal pay for equal work.

The leaders said that today's meeting will be held to carry out a continuous campaign, to intensify the phased struggle and to advance the fight by making alliances with all the non-communal labor organizations.
