Nawanshahr - Dr. Mehtab Singh, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, while giving information to the press, said that as per the directions of Hon'ble Director General of Police, Punjab, Chandigarh and Inspector General of Police, Ludhiana Range, Ludhiana, efforts are being made by the District Police to trace the case as soon as possible. Under these efforts, the District Police successfully traced the murder of an unknown migrant person in village Ladhana Jhikka Police Station Sadar Banga on 21-08-2024 and succeeded in arresting three accused who committed the murder.
Giving more information to the press in this regard, he said that on 22.08.2024, Hardeep Singh son of Sarwan Singh resident Ladhana Jhikka Police Station Sadar Banga informed the police that the body of an unknown person was lying in his sugarcane field, on which Captain Police (Investigation), Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Deputy Captain Police, Sub Division Banga, Inspector Avtar Singh, Incharge CIA Staff, Sub Inspector Balwinder Singh, Chief Officer Police Station Sadar Banga and other police officers of the district immediately reached the spot and a cursory inspection of the body was done. It was found that this unknown person was murdered by some unknown person/persons and the body was thrown in the said fields. In this regard, on the statement of Hardeep Singh, preliminary investigation was taken up by registering case number 88 dated 22.08.2024 A/D 103(1), 3(5) BNS Police Station Sadar Banga against unknown person.
To identify the deceased person and trace the accused in view of confidentiality, various teams were formed under the leadership of Inspector Avtar Singh, in-charge CIA Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Chief Officer Police Station Sadar Banga in the case under the supervision of Captain Police (Investigation) Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Deputy Captain Police (D) Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Deputy Captain Police, Sub Division Banga. Technical investigation of the spot was done and the deceased was identified. The deceased was identified as Amar Singh son Jhandu resident Baja Gau Thana Saroli, Bareilly Uttar Pradesh, currently resident of Shri Ram Kala Amb Near Barrier Thana Narayangarh Ambala, Haryana.
After this, Kiran, daughter of deceased Amar Singh, gave her statement that her father was murdered by Harish Kumar son of Durga Prasad resident of Pipariya Birpur police station Siroli district Bareilly Uttar Pradesh and current tenant Davinder Singh son of Joginder Singh resident of Emma Jattan police station Mahilpur. Who seems to be the nephew of deceased Amar Singh. On which Harish Kumar was named in the case and immediately arrested. Who has admitted in the preliminary interrogation that he had a dispute over money with his maternal uncle deceased Amar Singh, so he along with Gurdeep Singh alias Deepa son Amrik Singh resident Emma Jattan police station Mahilpur and Gagandeep alias Gaggi son Makhan Singh resident Emma Jattan police station Mahilpur district Hoshiarpur murdered Amar Singh near Hardeep Singh's sugarcane fields in village Ladhana Jhikka on 21.08.2024 and threw his body in the said sugarcane field. In the above case, Harish Kumar, Gurdeep Singh alias Deepa and Gagandeep alias Gaggi were arrested and 01 knife, 2 motorcycles and 03 mobile phones used in the incident were recovered from them. After killing the deceased Amar Singh, these culprits broke his mobile phone and threw it in the canal of village Binjon along with the kit bag. Crime 238 BNS has been added in the above case for destroying evidence during investigation. Arrested Accused:-

Accused Harish Kumar was arrested from Y Point Ladhana Jhikka on the information of special informer when he was coming from village Emma Jatta towards Ladhana Jhikka. Accused Gurdeep Singh alias Deepa and Gagandeep alias Gaggi were arrested from the shop of accused Gurdeep Singh alias Deepa in village Emma Jattan.
