Chandigarh – The Eye Bank, Advanced Eye Centre, PGIMER, in partnership with the Lions Club Chandigarh, successfully concluded its Eye Donation Awareness Fortnight on September 7, 2024. The initiative aimed to promote the importance of eye donation and encourage community involvement. Prof. S.S. Pandav, Head of Advanced Eye Centre, opened the event, stressing the transformative impact of eye donations in restoring vision to the visually impaired.

Mr. Pankaj Rai, Deputy Director (Administration), appreciated the collaborative efforts in spreading awareness. Lion Vinod shared inspiring stories on how eye donations can change lives, while Lion Sushil Goyal, President of Lions Club, discussed the pivotal role of NGOs in promoting this cause. The event featured personal testimonials from students, donor families, and recipients, highlighting the profound effect of eye donations. Participants in the poster-making, essay writing, and reel-making competitions were recognized, with over 500 entries from the tricity area. Dr. Amit Gupta expressed gratitude to all participants in his closing remarks, while Dr. Parul Chawla Gupta and Lion Sanjeev Gupta hosted the event, ensuring it remained engaging and informative.
