Mandi Gobindgarh, September 6 - Desh Bhagat University celebrated Teacher's Day with great fanfare, in which teaching staff and students of various faculties participated. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University. Paying tribute to the great teacher, educationist and philosopher Dr. Radha Krishnan, Dr. Zora Singh said, 'Teachers play a huge role in the development of youth, society and the country.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University. Paying tribute to the great teacher, educationist and philosopher Dr. Radha Krishnan, Dr. Zora Singh said, 'Teachers play a huge role in the development of youth, society and the country.
Developed countries and societies ruled the world because of their 'knowledge' and the source of this knowledge is the teacher. He further said that a good teacher is always a student who is always ready to learn without any ego and maintains his self-esteem. Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Abhijit Joshi said that teaching is a noble profession as teachers have a great impact on the growth, development and well-being of students and the nation.
He also shared memories of his school and university teachers. On the occasion of Teacher's Day, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, President Dr. Sandeep Singh and Dr. Varinder Singh Advisor Chancellor, Vice President Dr. Harsh Sadavarti and DBU Registrar Mr. Sudeep Mukherjee congratulated everyone. Dr. HK Sidhu while presenting the vote of thanks said that a teacher is a friend, a guide, a philosopher and a force that shows the right path to the students and makes their lives worth living. The event was organized by Dr Surjit Kaur Patheja, Director Media and Performing Arts Department, whose dedicated efforts ensured its success.
A colorful cultural program was also organized on this occasion, in which students as well as teachers participated in the vulture and cat walk on the stage.
