Nawanshahr 6 September - CPI (ML) New Democracy has organized a district level conference and protest in Nawanshahr today against the arrests, raids and implication of politicians, intellectuals, journalists, lawyers and justice loving people in false police cases to silence people across the country, snatch the rights of the states and silence the Modi government.
Addressing the convention on this occasion, party leaders Kulwinder Singh Warach, Daljit Singh Advocate and Avtar Singh Tari said that the NIA has conducted raids in five states including Chandigarh and Punjab. In which lawyer Ajay Singal has been arrested from Chandigarh, while many people have been given notice to appear in Lucknow NIA office. All this action has been taken in a one-year old case registered in Uttar Pradesh. In such a situation, Ajay Singal's name has been added by making a nickname of a person named Aman, which is not valid in any way.
The NIA has tried to spread terror by raiding a large number of houses. This action is to silence the people who speak against the ruling party by the central government. The raids by central agencies in Punjab, especially the Lucknow-based office, are an attack on the federal structure. This action is a violation of the rights of the state but the sad thing is that during these raids and arrests, the Punjab Police supported and protected them.
He said that this agency, formed in 2009, has been given more powers by the Modi government through a new bill in the Lok Sabha in 2019. Under which it can declare anyone a terrorist, whether that person is sitting in the country or abroad, and can take action against him. They have given the right to crush any struggle against the government in the country, whether it is for legitimate demands. It can work in any state without informing any state. Apart from this, the court of this agency will also be separate and the case will also be separate, which is a challenge to the already established judicial structure.
After protesting in the city, a memorandum was handed over to the district administration in the name of the President of the country demanding immediate abolition of the NIA, immediate release of those arrested, and immediate ban on notices sent to those called for questioning.
