Iftu condemns Punjab government's imposition of ESMA on contract employees of Powercom

Nawanshahr - Indian Federation of Trade Unions (IFTU) Punjab has strongly condemned the imposition of ESMA on the striking employees of Powercom by the Punjab government. Iftu's Punjab unit president and state press secretary Jasbir Deep has said that the anti-employee face of the Aam Aadmi Party government has been exposed.

Nawanshahr - Indian Federation of Trade Unions (IFTU) Punjab has strongly condemned the imposition of ESMA on the striking employees of Powercom by the Punjab government. Iftu's Punjab unit president and state press secretary Jasbir Deep has said that the anti-employee face of the Aam Aadmi Party government has been exposed.
The Punjab government has said in its orders that if the contract employees of PowerCom go on strike, they will be forced to leave under ESMA. It may be mentioned here that the contract employees of PowerCom have announced to go on strike on September 11, 12 and 13 regarding their demands. The leaders said that it is the constitutional right of the employees to strike for their demands.
He said that earlier Arvind Kejriwal's government of Delhi's Aam Aadmi Party had targeted the striking Anganwadi workers of Delhi and now the Hon'ble Punjab government is doing the same with the striking contract employees of Powercom. He said that instead of imposing ESMA, the Hon'ble government should pay attention to accepting the demands of the contract employees of Powercom. He said that IFTU Powercom stands with them in support of the contract workers' struggle.
