Hoshiarpur - Cabinet Minister Punjab Brahm Shankar Gimpa launched the Eye Donation Awareness Campaign of Eye Donation Association Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur under the 39th National Eye Donation Awareness Fortnight. On this occasion, he emphasized on the importance of eye donation and said that Eye Donation Association has been serving tirelessly for the last 25 years. The association has done an important job of making people aware of eye donation by organizing various seminars and awareness programs across the state.
The cabinet minister in his address said that eye donation is a great service, which can fill one's world with light. He said that to free the country from corneal blindness, we all should be aware of eye donation and inspire others. He said that a small initiative of people can bring a big change in someone's life. So everyone should be a participant in this meritorious work and encourage more and more people to donate eyes.
Patron of Eye Donation Association Prof. Bahadur Singh Sunet said that on this occasion, Mayor Surinder Kumar filled the application form regarding eye donation while Cabinet Minister Brahm Shankar Jimpa has already filled the application form regarding eye donation. Addressing the people present in the program, Prof. Suneet said that the main objective of the association is to free the country from corneal blindness. He said that corneal blindness is a condition in which a person's vision deteriorates and he becomes unable to see. Eye donation is an important effort to improve this situation.
 Prof. Suneet appealed to every section of the society and said that if a person is suffering from corneal blindness, he can contact Netradan Association Government Hospital Hoshiarpur. The association will bear the entire cost of treating such patients themselves, so that more and more people can be enlightened and their lives filled with light. On this occasion, many prominent personalities like City Mayor Surinder Kumar, Virinder Sharma Bindu, Baljit Singh Panesar, Harbhajan Singh, Santosh Saini, Harvinder Singh, Sarwan Singh, Harvinder Kaur and Dr. Krishan Lal were also present.
