DC guided the students preparing for competitive exams

Una, August 27 - Under the 'Samarthya' program, a special initiative of the Una district administration, a special counseling session was organized for the girl students preparing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) civil services examinations at Maharana Pratap Government Post Graduate College Amb on Tuesday. In this, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal guided the girl students by giving them important tips to pass the civil service examination and other competitive examinations. About 300 girl students participated in this session.

In this, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal guided the girl students by giving them important tips to pass the civil service examination and other competitive examinations. About 300 girl students participated in this session.
Apart from giving information about subject selection and syllabus to the students, Jatin Lal boosted their morale by sharing his experiences with them. The Deputy Commissioner also resolved the queries and doubts of the students related to the examination. He called upon the youth to continue their dedicated efforts with full enthusiasm, in the right direction and with the right attitude for success.
After the program, Jatin Lal said that under the Samarthya program, the Una district administration is working on mainly 6 components for the welfare and upliftment of youth and women, out of which guiding the youth for competitive examinations is also included as an important component. In this, efforts are being made to guide the youth regarding every aspect related to passing UPSC, HPPSC Civil Services Examination and other competitive examinations.
He said that it is often seen that the youth do not know many things about these competitive examinations due to which they have to face many kinds of dilemmas and problems. Due to lack of correct information about the subjects of the examination and books, they have to wander here and there. Our effort is to listen to their problems and solve them. They should be helped from financial problems to mental problems. Efforts are being made for this under the Samarthya program.
Financial help of up to Rs 2 lakh for higher education to poor girls
The Deputy Commissioner said that under the Samarthya Yojana, an initiative has been taken to help eligible girls from economically weaker sections in higher education. In this, the district administration has decided to bear the expenses of education of 25 needy girls from poor families. Only those girls will be eligible for this whose father has passed away or is more than 70 percent disabled. The applicant should be a resident of Una district, he should not have taken advantage of any other scheme and the annual income of his family should be Rs 50 thousand or less. The selected girls will be provided financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh for their degree or higher education. In the first phase, 25 girls will be selected on the basis of their marks and educational qualification.
Efforts dedicated to increasing the 'capacity' of youth
Giving information about the six main components of the Samarthya program, Jatin Lal said that it focuses on fitness, competitiveness, art and culture, entrepreneurship, awareness and control and promotion of social values. Under the first component fitness, emphasis will be laid on open gymnasiums, playgrounds, yoga courts and community sports events at the panchayat level with the aim of saving the youth from drug addiction and channelizing their energy in the right direction. Under the second component competitiveness, helping children prepare for competitive examinations is included, which includes UPSC coaching, higher studies scholarship, reading room and preparation for army entrance examination. In the third component art and culture, focus will be on crafts, culture centers, festivals, celebrations, cultural tours and language courses to promote art and culture. Under the fourth component entrepreneurship, emphasis will be laid on livelihood centers, job fairs, self-help group cooperation and agricultural modernization. In the fifth component awareness and control, work will be done on de-addiction campaign, cleanliness campaign, environmental protection and malnutrition eradication. Under the sixth component Social Value Promotion, women empowerment, value education camps, blood donation camps and community service activities will be promoted.
