
150 farmers of Rakhra village showed interest in straw management camp
Patiala, August 22 - Farmers of Rakhra village showed great interest in the block level camp organized on paddy stubble management. While presiding over this camp, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Jaswinder Singh appealed to the farmers to cooperate with the district administration and agriculture department to mix paddy straw in the fields and contribute to keep the environment clean.
Patiala, August 22 - Farmers of Rakhra village showed great interest in the block level camp organized on paddy stubble management. While presiding over this camp, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Jaswinder Singh appealed to the farmers to cooperate with the district administration and agriculture department to mix paddy straw in the fields and contribute to keep the environment clean.
In this block-level cap, village sarpanch Hardeep Singh Dhaliwal, Balwinder Singh, Karnail Singh, Avtar Singh and Satwant Singh shared their ideas about the experiences made regarding stubble management to the present farmers. And assured that the village panchayat will give full support to the department and the district administration in reducing the incidents of stubble fires.
In the camp, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Jaswinder Singh and Agriculture Development Officer Dr. Jaspinder Kaur gave the present farmers saplings of Forest Department and Horticulture Department to plant on the motors. And said that more and more farmers should plant fruit and shade trees in their fields to make Punjab greener. 150 farmers of the village participated in this camp.
