PEC Welcomed the PG Batch of M.Tech (2024-26) with Warm Embrace

Chandigarh: 22nd August, 2024:- Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh today welcomed the batch of M.Tech (2024-2026) today on 22nd August, 2024 with zeal and enthusiasm. This Inaugural ceremony was graced by the esteemed Director of PEC, Prof. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia (Ad Interim), Registrar Col. R. M. Joshi, Dr. D. R. Prajapati (Dean Students Affairs), Prof. S.K. Mangal (Dean Academics Affairs), along with all the heads of the departments and centers. The event started out with the floral welcome of the esteemed Director Prof. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia followed by lighting of the auspicious lamp.

This Inaugural ceremony was graced by the esteemed Director of PEC, Prof. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia (Ad Interim), Registrar Col. R. M. Joshi, Dr. D. R. Prajapati (Dean Students Affairs), Prof. S.K. Mangal (Dean Academics Affairs), along with all the heads of the departments and centers. The event started out with the floral welcome of the esteemed Director Prof. Rajesh Kumar Bhatia followed by lighting of the auspicious lamp.
Initially Director Prof. Rajesh Bhatia, welcomed the new batch of M.Tech students at the portals of PEC. He Congratulated the students on being selected in an Institute with 100+ years of legacy. He also shed light on the rich heritage of PEC with the visit of two presidents within a span of one year. He also asked the students to focus on our real social lives as well. He remarked that, we should use the technology, rather letting the technology use us. He said that ''these two years are very crucial in your life and you should make the most our of it.'' 
Afterwards, Prof. S.K. Mangal, Dean of Academics Affairs, shed light on various courses, branches, different procedures, rules & regulation of their subjects-cum-classes. He also showed them minor details of marks, exams, evaluation and Credit System. Moving Further, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. D. R. Prajapati welcomed the new batch in his unique way. He introduced the students to various clubs, cells and technical societies. He also talked about the various sports facilities, along with the Swimming Pool, Gymnasium, Open air theatre, Cricket and Football Ground. He also shed light on the technical and cultural event of PEC, i.e. PECFEST. He also talked about the functioning of NSS, NCC, Clubs and Societies. He also gave insights on various activities being carried out in the Institute. 
Afterwards, Dean SRIC, Dean Alumni & Corporate Relations, Head CDGC and Senior Librarian introduced the students to various activities and happening performed by their various departments. Head Computer Center, also provided insights to the working of Computer Center. The first day of two day inaugural function ended with Institute tour and departmental visits. 
Along with this, the week-long orientation of B.Tech Students is also going on. various clubs are representing and introducing themselves to the newly admitted students. The whole aura is buzzing with the energy of new students.
