Phillaur - Bahujan Samaj Party's fast paced youth leader Mr. Khushi Ram while talking to the press said that Phillaur Constituency has a historical background. Which is the fort of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji, historical Gurdwara Sri Bauli Sahib, Chishti Sabri Sarkar, Baba Brahm Das Ji Darbar, Mayya Bhagwan Ji's Darbar and Asia's largest Hanuman Temple are located in this area.
But the post-independence governments till date have failed to build a smooth bus stand in Phillaur. Buses run from Phillaur to Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Nakodar etc. But there is no arrangement for the passengers to sit, they have demanded that the government should pay attention to this as soon as possible and arrange the bus stand so that the passengers do not face any problem.
He further said that government buses should also be run from Phillaur to Talwan, Jandiala, Appra etc.
