
Administration tightened vigil to control illegal mining in Swan river
Una, August 3- In view of the increasing incidents of illegal mining in the Swan river in Khanpur and Fatehpur areas of Mehatpur tehsil in Una district, the district administration has tightened the vigil to curb them. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has issued special instructions to ensure day and night monitoring. The Deputy Commissioner has also deployed officers for night surveillance in these areas to further tighten the surveillance.

The Deputy Commissioner issued an order regarding this and said that Assistant Mining Inspector Balram will be on duty from 10 pm to 6 am in Khanpur village. A police constable will also be on duty with him. On the basis of rotation, a mining guard will be deployed there round the clock. Apart from this, Assistant Mining Inspector Satnam Singh will be on duty from 10 pm to 6 am in Fatehpur. A police constable will also be with him. On the basis of rotation, a mining guard will be deployed there round the clock.
These officers have been instructed to keep vigil in their respective areas and submit weekly action report to the Mining Officer, Una. The Mining Officer will send his report to the Deputy Commissioner's office.
Jatin Lal said that the Una district administration is fully committed to stop illegal mining activities and protect natural resources. Illegal mining will be dealt with strictly in the district. The cooperation of the local communities is extremely necessary in this initiative.
