Nawanshahr - District Badminton Association, Nawanshahr conducted Junior and Sub Junior District Badminton Championship at Municipal Badminton Hall, Chandigarh Road, Nawanshahr. Which was inaugurated by MLA Balachor Mrs. Santosh Kataria and Deputy Commissioner Mr. Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa.
Constituency Incharge Nawanshahr Mr. Lalit Mohan Pathak, Constituency Incharge Banga Mr. Kuljit Singh Sarhal and Chairman of Improvement Trust Mr. Satnam Singh Jalwaha participated as special guests in this championship. On this occasion, the chief guests and special guests were warmly welcomed by the District Badminton Association. Junior and sub-junior players and players of under-9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 years of age group related to badminton participated in this championship.
 Speaking on this occasion, MLA Balachore constituency Mrs. Santosh Katarian said that Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Maan is working to make Punjab a Rangla Punjab again. Under this campaign, sports stadiums are being built in villages and cities to connect the youth with sports. He said that youth should join sports. Youth can bring change in society.
 Deputy Commissioner Mr. Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa urged the youth to be interested in sports as well as education and urged the sportsmen to stay drug free so that a healthy society can be created.
Chief guests and special guests who came on this occasion were felicitated by District Sports Officer Mrs. Vandana Chauhan and her committee members.
