Meeting with officials of Forest Department (Wildlife) by Jassi Sohianwala

Patiala, July 30 - Chairman of District Planning Committee Patiala Jasbir Singh Jassi Sohianwala held a meeting with the officials of Wildlife Branch of Forest Department. During the meeting, District Forest Division Officer (Wildlife) Neeraj Gupta, Forest Range Officer Patiala Charanjit Singh, Forest Range Officer Samana Lakhvir Singh, Forest Guard Bhadson Paramveer Singh and Sukhchain Singh Forest Guard and Bikramjit Singh Deputy Economic and Statistical Advisor Investigator were present. Meanwhile, DFO Wildlife apprised the Chairman about the ongoing projects of the department.

Chairman Jassi Sohianwala said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the forest department should propagate the wildlife schemes to the common people. And along with increasing the forest area in the state of Punjab, appropriate steps should also be taken for the protection of wild life. On this occasion, he instructed the officials of the department to ensure the protection of various species of wild animals as well as adequate arrangements for them. So that the nearby fields of beers are not deserted. The Forest Range Officer said that at Bir Manhas, 65 acres of very beautiful Bir has been prepared. In Bir Bhadson, 103 hectares have been worked in previous years and 5 hectares this year during 2023-24.
In Bir Dosanjh Century, 18 hectares have been worked in previous years and 05 hectares in this year 2023-24. In Bir Bhunarheri Century, 10 hectares have been worked in the year 2022-23 and 10 hectares in this year 2023-24. 80 hectares of saplings have been planted in Bir Motibagh Century over the years.
