Patiala, July 22 - Punjab Power and Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said here today that Punjab State Electricity Corporation Limited (PSPCL) successfully met the record high power demand of 3666 lakh units in a single day on July 21 despite being a Sunday. Maximum power supply was also given for agriculture.

Harbhajan Singh ETO further informed that on 16 July this year, PSPCL had supplied 3626 lakh units in a single day, which was a record at that time. Now this record has been broken on 21st July. He said that the maximum demand of 15842 MW achieved on 21st July is also close to the peak power demand of 16058 MW achieved on 29th June this year. The Power Minister said that this achievement is the result of strategic planning and efficient resource management. He said that all available resources within and outside the state were fully utilized to ensure stable and reliable power supply. The Power Minister assured that the Punjab Government is committed to ensure continuous and quality power supply in the state.
