Patiala, July 19 - Working member of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) and president of Punjab Sikh Council, Jathedar Mohan Singh Kartarpur has said that Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal and Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal will be punished for the blasphemies and other crimes committed during the Akali Dal government in Punjab. The rebellious Akalis should be summoned to Sri Akal Takht Sahib and flogged. Addressing a press conference at Patiala Media Club here today, Jathedar Mohan Singh Kartarpur said that when there was a mistake from Maharaja Ranjit Singh, he too was given five lashes by the then Jathedar Sahib on Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He said that the current Jathedar should also flog Sukhbir Badal and rebel Akalis for their crimes in the same way. He said that but he does not expect that the Jathedar will do this because he is the Jathedar of the Badal family. He said that the real Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib is Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara and the acting Jathedar is Bhai Dhyan Singh Mand who has been appointed Jathedar by Sarbat Khalsa.
He alleged that the Badals have captured the Shiromani Committee and the budget of 12 thousand crore rupees is being misused. He said that we appeal to all Gursikhi Sikhs to cast their votes for the Shiromani Committee elections so that the Shiromani Committee can be freed from the control of the Badals in the upcoming elections. He said that he was baptized in 1970 and has always lived a Gursikh life. Jails have also been cut for the sake of Panth and Punjab, especially during the Emergency.
He said that even now he is always present for the panth. He also said that the death anniversary of Sant Harchand Singh Longowal should not be celebrated in Punjab because the agreement that Longowal made with Rajiv Gandhi was an agreement to bring a dark period to Punjab. Santokh Singh Mavisappa, Satpal Singh Balbera, Balkar Singh Kanaheri, Harjit Singh Kakra and Pyara Singh Samana were also present on this occasion.
