
District and Sessions Judge meeting with members of District Legal Services Authority
Hoshiarpur - District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman District Legal Services Authority Dilbagh Singh Johal held a meeting with the members of District Legal Services Authority today. Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal was also present on this occasion. Meanwhile, the District and Sessions Judge gave instructions to run the schemes related to 'Nalsa' in a smooth manner.

Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal was also present on this occasion. Meanwhile, the District and Sessions Judge gave instructions to run the schemes related to 'Nalsa' in a smooth manner. He reviewed the free legal services provided by the District Legal Services Authority and said that free legal assistance is being provided by the District Legal Services Authority. Which should be benefited more from the district residents.
The District and Sessions Judge asked the district administration that the dependency certificates issued to the dependents of persons killed in road accidents should be issued as soon as possible. So that the compensation of two lakh rupees due to the dependents of the deceased under 'Compensation to Victim' can be received on time.
The District and Sessions Judge directed to give maximum publicity to the National Lok Adalat to be held on September 14. He appealed to the residents of the district and said that they should take advantage of this by filing maximum number of cases in this national Lok Adalat. He said that this saves both time and money. He said that the decision of the Lok Adalat is recognized as a civil decree.
Dilbagh Singh Johal said that 13591 cases were heard in the National Lok Adalat held on May 2024 and 11381 cases were disposed of on the spot and a total award of Rs.8,76,73,569 was passed.
Meanwhile, the Secretary District Legal Services Authority gave information and said that 374 people were given legal aid and 131 people were given legal advice by the District Legal Services Authority from April to June. Apart from this, the authority solved 10 cases in 75 seminars, mediation and conciliation centers and 9 cases were 'on the spot decided' through the camp court in the central jail and the accused were released. He said that under the Victim Compensation Scheme, 9 cases were decided from April to June and awards of Rs. 23,10,000 were passed in these cases. On this occasion, Additional District and Sessions Judge Jasvinder Shimar, CJM-Com Secretary District Legal Services Authority Raj Pal Rawal, CJM Prabhjot Singh, SP Manoj Kumar, District Attorney Varinder Kumar, Assistant Public Relations Officer Lokesh Kumar, Paripal Singh Sahni, Darshan Kaushal and Kiranpreet Kaur Dhami were also present.
