
Up to 70 percent subsidy on dairy cattle insurance provided by Dairy Development Department

Giving information in this regard, Joint Director Dairy Development Punjab Kashmir Singh said that many times animals die due to diseases such as mouth hoof, lumpy skin, cheek ghotu etc.
Hoshiarpur - Director Dairy Development Department, Punjab is giving up to 70 percent subsidy on insurance of dairy cattle. Giving information in this regard, Joint Director Dairy Development Punjab Kashmir Singh said that many times animals die due to diseases such as mouth hoof, lumpy skin, cheek ghotu etc. These deaths cause economic loss to small and medium dairy farmers. He said that in order to reduce this loss, the government is giving 50 percent subsidy to the general caste livestock keepers and 70 percent subsidy to the scheduled caste livestock keepers. Under this scheme, the farmer can insure 1 to 5 animals. He said that the price of cattle under the scheme has been fixed at 70 thousand rupees. Under this scheme, one-year insurance for cattle of SC/ST beneficiaries will be Rs.672, two-year insurance will be Rs.1260 and three-year insurance will be Rs.1680. In this way, general beneficiaries can get one-year insurance for Rs.1120, two-year insurance for Rs.2100 and three-year insurance for Rs.2800.
