
"Upakar Yuva Clubs" will be formed to raise awareness about social evils - Upakar Society
Nawanshahr - A special meeting of "Upkar Coordination Society" was held in the office of Upkar Society at "Giran Bhawan" of local Guru Nanak Nagar Mahalla under the chairmanship of President Jaspal Singh Gidda. Starting the proceedings of the meeting, General Secretary Mr. Narinder Singh Bharata presented the past activity report which was unanimously approved.

Due to the evil of drugs, precious lives are being lost and crimes are increasing. In the meeting, all the members agreed with the idea that there is a need to protect the youth from evil because there are great expectations from the youth. Therefore, the Upkar Coordination Society will establish Upkar Yuva Clubs at every level in Mahallas, villages, towns through its youth branch. It was decided that the society will participate in the "World Anti-Drug Day" seminar on June 26, which will start at ten in the morning at the "Red Cross De-addiction and Rehabilitation Center" on the local railway road.
Apart from this, drug prevention awareness “spot painting competition” has also been conducted at the local ITI (Women). In today's meeting, JS Gidda, Madam Harbans Kaur, Narinder Singh Bharta, Parvinder Singh Jasomjara, Des Raj Bali, Gurcharan Singh Basiala, Dr. Avtar Singh Deenowal Kalan, Praminderjit Singh Langroa, Narinderpal Rita: Post Master, Madam Surjit Kaur Dulku, Madam Jyoti Bagga, Madam Rajinder Kaur Gidda, Madam Palwinder Kaur Badwal were present.
