He said that yoga is a great tradition of our sages and it develops both mind and body. He was speaking as the chief guest at the district level event organized by the district administration under CM's Yogashala on the 10th International Yoga Day at Police Line Ground Hoshiarpur today. Meanwhile, Cabinet Minister Punjab Bram Shankar Jimpa, Lok Sabha Member Dr. Raj Kumar and MLA Sham Churasi Dr. Ravjot Singh were also specially present. Meanwhile, saplings were also planted by the Chief Guest, Cabinet Minister Punjab and Lok Sabha Member.
The Health Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Maan Yoga, awareness about Yoga is being spread in the state through the CM's Yogashala, which people are getting a lot of benefit from. In addition to all the major cities of the state, CM Yogashals have been expanded at the block level. Apart from this, CM's Yogashala will be delivered to villages and soon to schools as well. Meanwhile, the chief guest honored the officials of various departments on International Yoga Day.
Cabinet Minister Bram Shankar Gimpa and MP Dr. Raj Kumar said that the people of the state have been given a healthy environment by the Punjab government through CM's Yogashala. Anyone can adopt a healthy lifestyle by joining a free yoga class. He said that yoga is an effective weapon to get rid of the stress caused by today's fast lifestyle and with this we can keep ourselves completely fit. He also inspired the youth to stay away from drugs by adopting yoga.
Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that on Yoga Day, more than 7 thousand people participated in the CM's Yogashala in the district, while 3 thousand people did yoga together in the district level event at the Police Line Ground. He said that at present more than 8 thousand people are practicing yoga daily in the district. He said that if a person has a place available to conduct a yoga class and there is a group of at least 25 people, then the Punjab government will send a yoga training instructor home.
