Una, June 21 - SDM Una Vishwa Mohan Dev Chauhan held a review meeting on Friday regarding preparations related to the southwest monsoon. In the meeting, various departments were instructed to establish proper coordination with all departments in view of the monsoon season so that the losses caused in any emergency situation can be minimized.
Vishwa Mohan Dev Chauhan said that the Health and Family Welfare Department should keep adequate stock of medicines required for the treatment of water-borne diseases in all medical institutions. Medicines used for snakebite should also be stored properly. Be fully prepared to deal with diseases like malaria and dengue. He instructed the health department to prepare pamphlets to make people aware about water-borne diseases and ensure that these pamphlets are delivered to every house through ASHA workers.
SDM directed the officials of Jal Shakti Department to ensure cleanliness of water sources and water storage tanks and chlorination of all drinking water sources. Apart from this, drinking water samples should also be tested from time to time so that waterborne viruses can be detected. He directed the Municipal Council Una, Mehatpur-Basdehra and Santoshgarh to keep the necessary equipment ready along with cleaning of drains and sewers for proper drainage of rainwater. He asked to ensure that the work of cleaning the blocked drains in MC areas is completed before the monsoon so that there is no problem during the monsoon. He directed the officials of Revenue Department, Public Works Department, Electricity Board, Fire Department and Education Department to complete the necessary procedures for rain preparations in their subordinate areas soon so that immediate relief can be provided to the affected area at the time of need.
On this occasion, Tehsildar Shikha Rana, Naib Tehsildar Kiran Chauhan, Fire Officer Suresh Kumar, Engineer Vinod Kumar from NHAI and other officers were present.
