Mandi Gobindgarh, June 12 - World Biochemistry Day was celebrated by Department of Biochemistry of Desh Bhagat Dental College. The function started with Deepmala and DBU song. On this occasion, Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University and Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University attended as chief guests.
Principal of Desh Bhagat Dental College Dr. Unti Pitale welcomed the chief guests and other dignitaries on their arrival at the function. Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University Dr. Zora Singh congratulated the department for organizing the event. Dr. Singh said biochemistry combines biology and chemistry to study living matter. It powers scientific and medical research in the fields of pharmaceuticals, forensics and nutrition, making it one of the most popular fields of study and research today.
Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur also congratulated the department for this initiative and highlighted the importance of celebrating World Biochemistry Day. More than 100 students from various departments of the university and several faculty members showcased their talent. At the end of the function, DBDC Principal Dr. Unnati Pitale thanked the chief guests, dignitaries, faculty members and students for attending the function.
