Garshankar, June 12 - In the recently held Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party in Punjab succeeded in increasing its vote percentage in several assembly constituencies. Among the assembly constituencies in which the vote was more than the previous elections, the assembly constituency Nawan Shahr is also prominent.
The BJP got 3226 votes in the 2022 assembly elections from the Nawanshahr constituency and two years later in the Lok Sabha elections held in 2024, the BJP got 9708 votes from here. Regarding the party's three-fold increase in votes, the Constituency In-Charge Poonam Manik was interviewed So he said that after contesting in the assembly elections, he did not let a single day go by when he did not contact some village or the other.
He claimed that if you have the decency to speak and if you have a check on cooperation with the people, then the vote bank of the party will definitely increase.
He said that after the assembly elections, he went to the villages and gave as much information as possible to the common people about every small scheme coming from the central government and because of this people started leaning towards the BJP. Claimed that BJP's vote bank will increase further in the near future and the party will get a good record from Nawashahr Vidhan Sabha constituency in the next assembly elections.
