The 301st birthday celebration of Maharaja Jassa Singh Ramgarhia was held at an international level

Sarrey (Canada), June 11 - Recently, the Canadian Ramgaria Society at Gurdwara Sahib Brookside (Sarrey) celebrated the 301st birthday of Maharaja Jassa Singh Ramgaria, the great commander of the Sikh community, brave warrior, the one who broke the seal of the throne of Delhi and brought Sri Amritsar Sahib, the founder of Ramgaria Misl and Sikh State, with great pomp and this event became the first international event of Ramgarhia heritage conservation on Canadian soil.

On this auspicious day, Sri Akhand Path Sahib was offered at Gurdwara Sahib, after which Divan was organized and during this, Dhadi Jathas connected the devotees with the great Sikh history. Guru ka Langar was served. In the evening, the management committee of Gurdwara Sahib organized a special program at Bombay Banquet Hall, in which a large number of people from the local Sikh community congratulated him for the promotion, propagation and preservation of Sikh values. Musicians Didar Singh Namdhari and Pavitra Singh Mathadu performed Indian ragas with tabla and tar-shehnai. Ustad Chamkaur Singh Sekhon on folk instrument Sarangi and Navdeep Singh on Dhaad mesmerized the guests present in the program.
Kulwant Singh Bhamra, a renowned artist of Apna Music from England also graced the stage. Similarly, local organizations also participated including Gurdwara Sahib Dashmesh Darbar, Akali Singh Sikh Temple Gurdwara Nanaksar Richmond, Five Rivers Community Services Society and Sarrey Delta Indo-Canadian Seniors Society. The entire management committee of the Canadian Ramgarhia Society repeatedly felicitated the guests and speakers from England, America and India. The society announced that those who do PhD on Maharaja Jassa Singh Ramgarhia will be awarded Rs. 1 lakh in India and Rs. 3 lakh in Pakistan. Many social and political personalities also attended the occasion and congratulated the people on the birthday of Maharaja Jassa Singh Ramgarhia. On this occasion, Conservative MP from Calgary Mr. Jasraj Singh Halan, MP from Edmonton Tim Uppal, Conservative candidate from Delta Jassi Sahota also attended the event. On this occasion, eminent Sikh scholar Mr. Jaiteg Singh Anant shared information with the audience about the inspiring life of Maharaja Jassa Singh Ramgarhia, his glorious role in Sikh history and his contribution in the creation of the Sikh state. Bhai Chamkaur Singh Sekhon and Navdeep Singh's Dhadi Band mesmerized the people by singing songs of Sikh heroes with Dhaat Sarangi. Due to the tireless efforts of the Society's President Mr. Balbir Singh Chana and his entire team, this event became a history of success. The stage manager and Public Relations Manager of the Society Mr. Surinder Singh Jabal conducted the proceedings of the stage very smoothly.
