Jalandhar - The general body meeting of Jalandhar Desh Bhagat Smranotsav Samiti was held today by paying tribute to poet Surjit Patar, folk singer Kuldeep Jaloor, Mohanjit, Harbans Hyon, Inderjit Kurd, Sukhjit, Balbir Bassi and other writers, struggling people and the families of the victims of the massacre of the people of Palestine by standing up.
Jalandhar - The general body meeting of Jalandhar Desh Bhagat Smranotsav Samiti was held today by paying tribute to poet Surjit Patar, folk singer Kuldeep Jaloor, Mohanjit, Harbans Hyon, Inderjit Kurd, Sukhjit, Balbir Bassi and other writers, struggling people and the families of the victims of the massacre of the people of Palestine by standing up. Desh Bhagat Smranotsav Committee has appealed to litterateurs, writers, theatre artists and people to attend the provincial Surjit Patar tribute and honour ceremony to be held at Dana Mandi Barnala on June 9 at 11 am.
Desh Bhagat Smranotsav Samiti President Ajmer Singh, General Secretary Prithipal Singh Madimegha and Cultural Wing Convenor Amolak Singh said that in the meeting, apart from the Vice President of the Committee Kulwant Singh Sandhu, Assistant Secretary Charanji Lal Kangniwal, Finance Secretary Seetal Singh Sangha, the group of committee members present in the meeting held a special discussion to bring more continuity in the activities in various appropriate forms about the history, literature, culture, social concerns and scientific thoughts inside and outside the Desh Bhagat Memorial Hall, and decided to give them a practical form. Keeping in mind the youth engaged in paddy work, it was decided to organize training awareness camps on various subjects in the month of August instead of June. It was also decided to attract people towards the hall's library, museum and book culture by creating light, sound and book nests in the park built in collaboration with Shaheed Udham Singh Welfare Trust and Center Birmingham near the main gate of Desh Bhagat Memorial Hall. It was also decided to carry out necessary work in the reading room, Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Manch of Desh Bhagat Memorial Hall. It was decided to hold regular meetings of the sub-committees of the committee, cultural branch, history committee, museum committee, library committee, maintenance committee and finance committee and to review the activities, achievements and society related issues of the committee especially on social media. It was decided to make special efforts to enhance, publicize and popularize it.
