It is worth mentioning that the residents of the locality were making rounds of the Municipal Council Nawanshahr for the last two months demanding the drainage of dirty water. But no officer listened to them and neither did any MC hold their hand. In the morning and evening, the dirty water overflows and starts spreading in the streets. The limit was crossed when the dirty water of the sewage started mixing in the water supply pipes and started coming in the taps. And it started inviting diseases by reaching the water tanks of the houses. Kulwinder Singh Waraich, a resident of this locality, who united the people and involved them in the struggle, held several meetings of the residents. In the meeting held last evening, the people unanimously decided to open the disposal gate ball. This decision was implemented this morning. Women of the village were also present in large numbers on this occasion. Addressing on this occasion, Kulwinder Singh Waraich said that diseases are spreading due to dirty water of sewerage. But the MC was giving priority to the Lok Sabha elections and the bureaucracy was doing nothing except salivating. Terrible diseases were spreading. Very dirty water was coming in the water supply pipes. The RO systems installed in the houses also failed and people were forced to drink dirty water. He said that when no one holds the hand of the public, people are forced to take such a decision themselves. On this occasion, a large number of locality residents including Puneet Kaler, Islamuddin, Harmila Devi, Azad, Kuldeep Deepa Kariyam, Amarjit, Bhupinder Kaur, Ram Brich, Kesar, Ram Saroop and Satinder Kaur were present.
