During the meeting of the front, convener Mr. Harminder Singh Mavi said that the government's anti-people policies have been defeated during the elections. He said that crores of people of the state have been affected by the Bhagwant Mann government's policy of stopping the registration of small plots in the state and shutting down electricity connections to people's houses.
Advocate Darshan Singh Dhaliwal, legal adviser of the front, said that for the last 25/30 years in Punjab, crores of laborers and low-income residents have been living in their houses inside and outside cities, villages and municipal committees/corporations. And some plots are still lying vacant in these places But the government has declared these constructions illegal and blocked their registration And electricity connections have also been stopped from being issued to new constructions which is a public nuisance. He said that the number of these colonies is about 20000 in Punjab and about one and a half crore people are living in them which is about 50 percent of the total population of the state. He said that the constitutional rights of the people have been violated by imposing the said restrictions, the consequences of which the Aam Aadmi Party has had to bear in these elections.
The front has demanded from the Chief Minister that the government should immediately end the restrictions and give relief to the people of Punjab. Apart from others, Jaspal Singh Dapar, Om Parkash, Naresh Khanna, Harsimran Singh, Rohit Kumar, Mahesh Rana, Amandeep Singh Badheri and Yashjot Singh Dhaliwal were also present in the meeting
