Jatin Lal said that there are a total of 4 lakh 33 thousand 129 voters in the district including 6671 service voters. Among them, there are 2 lakh, 14 thousand 95 women, 2 lakh 19 thousand 30 men and 4 transgender voters. 516 polling stations have been set up in the district. He said that voting will take place on June 1 from 7 am to 6 pm. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.
Special arrangements made for the convenience of voters
Jatin Lal said that 100% minimum basic facilities have been ensured at all polling booths in the district. All necessary arrangements will be available at polling booths for the convenience of people, including shaded areas, ramps for handicapped voters, wheelchairs, drinking water for all, toilets, medical kits, etc. Volunteers will also be deployed at polling booths to help people.
How many voters where
Let us tell you, there are five assembly constituencies in Una district. There are a total of 84 thousand 212 voters in the Chintpurni assembly constituency of the district, out of which 41 thousand 146 are women, 43 thousand 65 are male voters and 1 transgender voter. There are 84 thousand 316 voters in Gagret assembly constituency, out of which 41 thousand 660 are women and 42 thousand 656 are male voters. There are 89 thousand 258 voters in Haroli assembly constituency, out of which 44 thousand 273 are women and 44 thousand 985 are male voters. There are 87 thousand 650 voters in Una assembly constituency, out of which 43 thousand 386 are women, 44 thousand 262 are men and 2 are transgender voters. There are 87 thousand 693 voters in Kutlahar, out of which 43 thousand 630 are women, 44 thousand 62 are men and 1 is transgender voter.
Women workers will take charge of 50 polling stations
The District Election Officer said that out of 516 polling stations in the district, 50 polling stations will be operated by women workers. In these, 10 polling stations in each assembly constituency will be operated by women workers. Apart from this, young workers will take charge of 1 polling station in every assembly constituency. Apart from this, a total of 20 model polling stations have been set up in the district, in which there will be 4 model polling stations per assembly constituency.
Apart from voter card, 12 other documents are also valid for voting
Jatin Lal said that voters will have to bring their photo identity card with them to cast their vote on June 1. Apart from the voter card, any one of the 12 other documents prescribed by the Election Commission can be presented as an identity card at the time of voting. Voters who are unable to present their voter photo identity card will have to present any one of the 12 alternative photo identity documents to establish their identity for voting. He requested the people to definitely exercise their vote in this great Kumbh of democracy.
Bring any one of these documents with you
The district election officer said that voters should bring along with them any one of the following documents for voting on June 1: voter ID card with photo or Indian passport, driving license, service identity card (centre, state, public sector undertakings and public limited companies), passbook (issued by bank, post office with photo), PAN card, health insurance smart card (issued under the scheme of the Ministry of Labour), smart card issued by RGI under NPR, MNREGA job card, pension document (with photo), government identity card (issued to MPs, MLAs and Legislative Council members), Aadhaar card or Unique Disability ID card issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
3901 people voted at home
The District Election Officer said that taking advantage of the home voting facility in Una district, 3901 voters have cast their votes by exercising their franchise from their homes. In this campaign, 2740 voters above the age of 85 years and 1161 handicapped voters have voted. Let us tell you, as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, voting was done from 21 to 29 May in the district by voters above the age of 85 years and handicapped voters who chose to exercise their franchise from their homes.
