Eagle Eye on Polling stations on Poll Day – 1st June through webcasting

Chandigarh, May 29, 2024 — In preparation for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Chief Executive Officer, Chandigarh Sh. Vijay Namdeorao Zade and the Deputy Commissioner-cum-Returning Officer, Sh. Vinay Pratap Singh along with the Nodal Officer for Webcasting, visited the District Webcasting Command Centre at District Election Control Room today to oversee the arrangements for webcasting at polling stations to ensure free and fair elections in the Union Territory.

Chandigarh, May 29, 2024 — In preparation for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Chief Executive Officer, Chandigarh Sh. Vijay Namdeorao Zade and the Deputy Commissioner-cum-Returning Officer, Sh. Vinay Pratap Singh along with the Nodal Officer for Webcasting, visited the District Webcasting Command Centre at District Election Control Room today to oversee the arrangements for webcasting at polling stations to ensure free and fair elections in the Union Territory.
To enhance transparency and to maintain integrity in the electoral process, live webcasting will be implemented at all 614 polling stations across Chandigarh. Special attention will be given to 139 identified vulnerable polling stations, ensuring increased vigilance and security.A trial run of the webcasting system has been successfully conducted, confirming the readiness of the critical poll monitoring infrastructure. A sufficient number of personnel will be deployed both at the polling stations and District Webcasting Command Centre to manage the webcasting operations effectively. Additionally, Sector Officers will be on the ground to resolve any issues that may arise during the election process.
A dedicated control room has been established to oversee webcasting activities throughout the election process. This initiative will enable real-time monitoring, allowing election officials to promptly address any issue and ensure the smooth conduct of the elections.
The introduction of live webcasting at all 100% polling stations is a significant step towards enhancing the transparency and credibility of the electoral process.
