Second Supplementary Randomization of Voting Machines in presence of General Observer and Political Parties

Hoshiarpur - On the directions of Election Commission of India, the second supplementary randomization of voting machines was done with the software developed by Election Commission in the presence of General Observer Senior IAS Officer Dr. R. Anand Kumar and representatives of political parties in view of Lok Sabha Elections-2024 today.

Meanwhile, in a meeting organized by Deputy Commissioner-cum-Returning Officer Hoshiarpur at District Administrative Complex, the representatives of political parties were given detailed information about the strong rooms of voting machines, places of dispatch and receipt of voting machines and about the counting of voting machines. He said that the distribution of machines was done in a transparent manner by the EVM management system of Election Commission. The representatives of political parties expressed satisfaction over the entire process which took place amid videography.

The District Election Officer-cum-Returning Officer informed that during today's second supplementary randomization, 25 ballot units, 33 control units and 67 VVPATs have been allotted as reserve for various assembly constituencies of Lok Sabha Hoshiarpur.
He said that Sri Hargobindpur Assembly Constituency has been allotted 2 BU, 14 CU and 20 VVPAT machines.
Bhulatth has 2 BU, 4 CU and 3 VV PET machines.
Phagwara has been allotted 2 BU, 1 CU and 1 VV PET machines,
Mukerian has been allotted 2 BU, 2 CU and 10 VV PET machines,
Dasuha has been allotted 1 BU, 2 CU and 9 VV PET machines,
Urmur has been allotted 5 BU, 2 CU and 10 VV PET machines,
Sham Churasi has been allotted 3 BU, 3 CU and 10 VV PET machines,
Hoshiarpur has been allotted 5 BU, 3 CU and 3 VV PET machines,
Chabewal has been allotted 3 BU, 2 CU and 4 VV PET machines. 
After the second supplementary randomization of voting machines, the list of machines allotted to the groups of representatives of candidates/official election agents was given.

The District Election Officer said that the election campaign will end at 6 pm on May 30 and during this period there will be a complete ban on opinion polls and exit polls.
He said that the dispatch and receiving of voting machines of Sri Hargobindpur Assembly Constituency will be done at Baba Namdev University College, Kishankot (Ghuman),
Guru Nanak Prem Karamsar College Nadala, Bhulatth,
Guru Nanak College Sukhchain Sahib Phagwara,
SPN College Mukerian,
GTB Senior Secondary School Dasuha, Dasuha,
GKSM College Tanda, Urmur,
Sham Churasi Kaushal Vikas Kendra ITI Hoshiarpur,
Hoshiarpur Riyat Bahra Group of Institutes Dental Block Hoshiarpur and the dispatch and receiving of voting machines of Chabewal Assembly Constituency will be done at Engineering Block Riyat Bahra Group of Institutes Hoshiarpur.
