SAS Nagar, May 28 - Punjab Employees and Pensioners United Front Mohali held a conference in Mohali today as per the decision of the state conference of May 5 and took out an awareness march in various markets. On this occasion, the leaders said that due to the anti-employee, pensioner and labourer policies of the Central Government, the size of government departments is being reduced today. Unemployment has crossed all limits. The education sector is being ruined by the new education policy. Through the Electricity Bill 2020, the power sector is being abolished and privatization is being promoted.

The leaders said that not only the Central Government but also the Punjab Government has harassed the employees and pensioners and under a well-planned conspiracy, employees and pensioners are being pushed to the margins. The Punjab Government has made ad-hoc employees permanently redundant by bringing them into the regular pay scale. Similarly, it did not notify the restoration of the old pension scheme, but on its basis used it for political purposes during election campaigns in neighboring states.

The leaders said that the coefficient of 2.59 has not been implemented on pensioners as per the instructions of the Sixth Pay Commission. Similarly, there was no talk on DA arrears of 225 months. As per the recommendations of the Commission implemented from 1-1-2016, no talk is being held about the pending salary of crores of rupees of the employees and the newly appointed employees are being measured with the central pay scale by the government again adopting an adamant attitude. The deduction of Rs 200 as gratuity tax by the employees has not been stopped yet.

A large number of employee pensioners including Sukhdev Saini, ND Tiwari, Gurwinder Singh, Jagdish Singh Sarao, Mandeep, Ajmer Singh Logia, Avtar Singh Hasanpur, Naresh Bittu, Gurmeet Singh Khalsa, Charanjit Singh Sidhu, Ravinder Pappi, Babu Singh Kalore, Darshan Singh, Kamal Kumar were present during the awareness march.
